Vintage Mexican Enamel Brooch with Carved Onyx Face in Silver
This striking vintage brooch is a highly collectible work of art. Crafted in sterling silver, this piece features a Mexican (possibly Mayan or Aztec Inspired) Man wearing a vibrant enamel head dress and articulated jewelry including swinging earrings and a colorful collar. His face is beautifully carved from onyx and set on a secure sterling backing. This piece is rich in Mexican folk art tradition and modernist style. This excellent vintage brooch has a loop at the top and can be fixed onto a chain, it also has a pin with safety clasp. The reverse is engraved "Julio" and stamped "Mexico 925"

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear. Some patina/tarnish to the metal. All inlays are intact, some light surface wear on the pink and yellow enamel. Small scratch on headdress right side. Pin mechanism is strong and secure. A unique and well-preserved treasure.
