Victorian Mourning Bar Brooch
Here is a beautiful late Victorian mourning brooch. This fantastic piece features a smooth, matte-textured bar decorated with recessed stripes. A tiny, bright seed pearl is set in the center of the brooch. These bar pins were common during the Victorian period and into the Edwardian period for both mourning and non-mourning jewelry. This would have been worn on the neckline. The seed pearls, when found on mourning jewelry, represent tears. This tender Victorian brooch is in fantastic condition and is ready to wear or collect.
