Antique Victorian Enamel Locket with Bird & Rose Cut Diamonds on 14K Gold Chain
This beautiful antique locket captures the romance and artistry of the Victorian era with its sweet bird and nest motif. The face of the locket features an applied, enameled gold bird sitting above a hand-enameled nest. In the nest, two antique rose cut diamond "eggs" are nestled amongst the hand painted details. Two additional smaller rose cut diamonds further adorn the sky, set in the black enamel. The locket is comprised of 14K yellow gold and is on a 14K solid yellow gold (contemporary) chain. The reverse of the locket features a secure, removable glass window, currently housing a portrait of a dapper gentleman. This antique locket is over 100 years old and does have some age related wear in one area near the bottom where there is a small dent in the gold- this is shown in the last two photos as does not detract from the beauty of this piece. CONDITION
As mentioned above, This antique locket is over 100 years old and does have some age related wear in one area near the bottom where there is a small dent in the gold- this is shown in the last two photos as does not detract from the beauty of this piece. Very light age related wear to enameling and surface. Some evidence of repair to bale at some point, barely noticeable. Some enamel loss to the bird.
