Rare Frédéric Charles Victor de Vernon La Nuit Stick Pin in Gold
Here is a rare and stunning Art Nouveau Stickpin by highly collectible artist Frédéric Charles Victor de Vernon. This design is referred to as "The Night" or "La Nuit" and features a woman in profile clutching a bouquet of poppies. Five tiny diamond stars float around her head. The gold is bright and buttery. The medallion-style head of the pin is signed F. Vernon, and the stem of the pin is hallmarked however, it is very hard to read. This stunning and highly collectible piece of art nouveau jewelry history is ready to wear, collect, or gift to someone special.
"De Vernon is now known both for his jewelry designs and his medals. He worked on commissions for medals to commemorate the special events. This includes birthdays of scientists, anniversaries of international congresses, the opening of a water source at Evian Spa, prizes for horticultural competitions, and the official medals of the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. His medals are now held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This as well as London, the British Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum." -Fellows
